Job Title: Senior Construction Materials Technician

Site based activities that are Labour intensive.

Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire, East Midlands

Salary: (£27,000 - £32,000) per annum, Experience dependant +Company Vehicle

Job Type: Permanent

We are looking for a Senior Construction Materials Technician, preferably with concrete condition testing and structural investigation experience.

About the role:

The office and lock up are based in East Northamptonshire. As the Senior Construction Materials Technician you will work on various sites around the country carrying out construction materials testing and inspection, gathering samples, and data via non-destructive techniques.

Skills and Experience Required:

• Experience gained working independently on construction sites, with enthusiasm to learn and develop.
• Full UK driving licence (clean licence preferable).

Desired Skills and Experience 

• Diamond drilling/ core sampling.
• Plate bearing testing.
• Electro-potential testing (half-cell).
• Concrete cover survey.
• Incremental dust sampling.
• Depth of carbonation.
• Breaking out and inspecting reinforcement.
• Resistivity testing (Wenner 4 probe).
• Concrete scanning (by Ferroscan and GPR).
• Visual condition and delamination survey.
• SSSTS, PASMA & IPAF competencies.

Benefits:

As the Senior Construction Materials Technician you will be provided with a company vehicle, laptop, and tablet for site use. Some contracts will involve working away from home Monday to Friday, or night shifts, and there will be an occasional opportunity to work a weekend shift if desired.
