The role:
Day-to-day, you'll work proactively to ensure capabilities are maintained, through both preventive and reactive maintenance, whilst performing scheduled maintenance tasks, supporting both Through Life Support (TLS) and new works.

  • Working to a planned timetable including inspecting, monitoring and reporting on the condition of mechanical and electrical assets on a satellite station
  • Carry out testing/rewiring/installation works to 18th Edition IEE Regs
  • Providing on call capacity to assist the overall delivery of continued services
  • Escalating failures in line with departmental reporting expectations

This position involves working in confined spaces. Candidates must be able to work comfortably and perform tasks in restricted spaces.

This role is full time, 37-hours per week and is based onsite in Bordon.

Essential experience of the Mechanical and Electrical Technician:

  • BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (IET)
  • Good organisational skills, ability to prioritise
  • Experience of working to safety procedures
  • Competent in the use of hand tools
  • Good understanding of COSHH regulations


Qualifications for the Mechanical and Electrical Technician

  • Minimum Level-3 award in Initial Verification and Periodic Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations (C&G 2391/2)
  • Minimum NVQ3/C&G Level-3 diploma in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic)
  • Clean UK driving licence

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance for this role.
