Mechanical Engineer - Manufacturing/Food

Location: The Royal Burgh Bakery, Livingston, West Lothian (Paterson Arran Bakery)

Job type: Full Time, Permanent

Hours:  Shift pattern, 3 week rotating basis

Week 1 – Nights - 9pm to 6am Sunday, then 10pm to 6am Monday to Thursday.

Week 2 – Backshift/Evenings - 2pm to 10pm Monday to Friday

Week 3 – Days - 6am to 2pm Monday to Friday

Also required to help provide occasional weekend cover

Why work as part of our Engineering team?

We are looking for two self-motivated and dedicated Shift Technicians to join our Engineering Department, who are seeking a challenging and rewarding role at the heart of our business at our Paterson Arran, Livingston bakery. Successful individuals will provide a timely reactive and effective planned maintenance service & play a key role in improving and optimising the operational performance of the bakery.

What does your typical day look like?

You will support the site engineering requirements and all associated equipment. You will be responsible for the maintenance and repair on a diverse range of plant and equipment and will be expected to contribute effectively to all planned preventive maintenance across the bakery.

What are the key ingredients needed for the role?

You will be a time served and qualified mechanical engineer (Modern Engineering Apprenticeship SVQ 3, or equivalent), and ideally had previous experience in a fast moving/high volume manufacturing environment.

You must be able to be capable of installation, maintenance, test and repair of the equipment
