Illusion is a bespoke scenic fabrication and project support services provider for theatre, television, exhibition, and live events industries. We are looking for a metal fabricator to work within our expanding metalwork department.

About the Role:

Illusion DC provides bespoke scenic fabrication and project support services for theatre, television, exhibition and the live events industries. Our workshops support designers and creative teams across the world in creating some truly unique experiences and constructions.

Illusion is a bespoke scenic fabrication and project support services provider for theatre, television, exhibition, and live events industries. We are looking for a metal fabricator to work within our expanding metalwork department.

Our workshops are the heart of the operation and the metalworking department is involved in everything we do - The role will cover some of our most interesting projects and offers a chance to take ownership of some rewarding end results.

Our fabricators are involved end-to end in the build process, from initial design discussion, through to bench cutting and fabrication and on to final fitting and the position would reward candidates looking to exercise a wide range of skills.

Illusion is an expanding company and the position would be ideal both for experienced candidates and those looking to take a step into a new industry. Ideal candidates would demonstrate several of the below:

• Extensive experience working within the scenic events industry, both in workshops and onsite builds
• Comprehensive knowledge of MIG metal fabrication, primarily with mild steel ERW tubing
• Excellent understanding of bench drawings and a proven understanding of scenic fabrication techniques.
• A passion for quality work, twinned with high personal standards for finishing

Also beneficial would be the following:

• Knowledge of mechanical installation (Motors, inverters, control systems, simple mechanical wiring)
• TIG welding experience
• IPAF training or similar, if not training will be provided.

Additional Information:

The role will be primarily based at our workshop in Belvedere, South East London. Optional onsite work within the UK and internationally may be offered.

Our standard workshop hours are Mon - Fri 0800 - 1700. Some on site work will require out of hours and weekend working.

£34-42k Salary Dependant on Experience, site work and overtime are both paid at an enhanced rate. Salary is reviewed regularly and will reflect experience and results within the role.
