About the job

We’re looking for someone who is experienced in engineering and/or metrology with a technical, open minded approach to engineering challenges.

Job Purpose:

The engineering team are focused on developing products and solutions for our customers through product demonstrations, application development, design and contract measurement.

Responsibilities:

  • To be responsive in supporting the sales team with specific technical knowledge and engineering solutions through demonstrations and reports of our products to existing and prospective customers.
  • Develop and design solutions within the scope of automation, fixturing and software to add value to the current Sempre product range.
  • To support, manage and deliver excellent contract measurement services.
  • Undertake machine installations, calibration, commissioning and training on customer sites.
  • Provides on-site, phone, email and remote help desk support (both pre and post sales) to The Sempre Group sales team and customers.

Other General duties include:

  • Managing set up, break down and specialist application support for exhibition stands.
  • Maintain exceptional housekeeping standards in all customer facing activities & areas.
  • Create product training materials through various media including presentations, manuals and video.

Required skills, qualifications and experience

  • The ideal candidate should have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or Science. Experience with automation and development is highly desirable.
  • Metrology or inspection background desirable.
  • 3D CAD design and drafting experience is desirable.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise own work load.
  • Initiative to work a solution from inception to build through application of engineering skills.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently work as part of a team.
  • Enthusiasm and willingness to learn, with a positive and fun attitude.
  • IT literate
  • Excellent customer service.
  • A mentality of wanting to continuously improve processes and practices.
