The role

An exciting opportunity to be deployed overseas has arisen at Babcock International. As a Multi Skilled Technician you'll be based within our Mission Systems business area. Babcock is a trusted provider of integrated solutions for global defence and security. As a Multi Skilled Technician you will apply electrical engineering skills to provide high quality and diverse EST and PAT services on a wide range of electrical systems. Also, you'll execute planned preventative maintenance schedules and corrective maintenance on satellite communication systems and their associated support systems

Day to day, you'll

  • Ensure equipment is maintained and available for Operations and meets KPIs
  • Ability to work at heights and undertake an Approved climber course
  • Carry out Authorising Person (AP) electrical duties
  • Plan & complete minor project work and installations

This role will be based overseas. The successful candidate must be willing and able to be deployed to a partner country for a period of approximately two years (location and relocation assistance / arrangements to be discussed during the selection process).

Essential experience of the Multi Skilled Technician - Electrical:

  • Strong electrical Inspection & Testing skills
  • Knowledge of electrical installations and the repair of, preferably in their application within industrial and office environments
  • Have a thorough knowledge of current HS&E Regulations
  • Ability to work under pressure to resolve fault conditions in short time scales
  • Ability to work as part of a small multi-skilled team, or independently
  • Proficient in use of the typical range of hand tools and test equipment

Qualifications for the Multi Skilled Technician -Electrical:

  • City & Guilds 2391 - Inspection and Test or equivalent
  • City & Guilds 2381 - Installation of electrical services or equivalent
  • City & Guilds 2377 - PAT testing
  • Minimum level 3 award in electrical installations
  • IT literate, including MS Office and similar software applications
  • IOSH or equivalent safety training (training can be provided)

The successful candidate must be able to achieve DV security clearance level for this role.
