This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance work across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main MEH, cabling and associated support services. This innovative approach will help different contractors work as a single entity to deliver the complex installation of cabling and pipework in the power station's 2,500 rooms.

The role
As an NDT Coordinator, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will play a pivotal role in the success of the Hinkley Point C project. You'll ensure the smooth execution of NDT coordination functions, guaranteeing smooth delivery and adherence to project requirements.

Day to day, you'll collaborate closely with the NDT Coordinator, providing support in ensuring NDT activities are carried out effectively and efficiently.

  • Assist the Lead NDT Coordinator in performing site NDT coordination functions, implementing project requirements.
  • Coordinate NDT-related activities from a functional perspective.
  • Collaborate in organizing NDT activities conducted by assigned NDT subcontractors.
  • Support the Lead NDT Coordinator in ensuring site NDT activities align with specified project requirements.
  • Engage with NDT service providers to schedule and execute NDT activities according to the construction project timeline.
  • Maintain comprehensive work files containing documentation to demonstrate compliance with NDT codes and quality standards.
  • Input NDT data into the MEH Welding Management Control software (WeldEye).
  • Interface with all Quality functions related to NDT operations.
  • Prepare daily surveillance reports.

This role is full time 38 hours a week and will be based on site at Hinkley Point C in Bridgwater.

Essential experience of the NDT Coordinator

  • Previous experience in multi-discipline projects, in the nuclear or similar regulated sector, including major EPC projects.
  • Prior experience of NDT and/or welding inspection and/or quality control operations within a highly regulated industrial or nuclear (preferred) sector.


Qualifications for the NDT Coordinator

  • NVQ 2 or other equivalent qualifications in a relevant Engineering discipline.
  • Demonstration of basic technical knowledge of NDT processes and technology.
  • Applicable NDT qualifications (e.g., PCN Level II RT, UT, PT and MT) are an advantage but not mandatory.
  • Experience with Welding Management Control software is an advantage but not mandatory.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve BPSS security clearance for this role.
