Salary: Circa £55,000 depending on experience

Dynamic (hybrid) working: We trust our people to agree, within their teams, where and when they can be most effective. Our Dynamic Working policy allows individuals flexibility around the hours they work and where they work, however there is a requirement for the Network Team (as a whole) to cover the Network Services from 7am – 7pm weekdays, which requires on-site attendance: this will be via rota.
The Opportunity

An opportunity has arisen in the Information Management Network Team for a Network Services Engineer. We are looking for an enthusiastic / dynamic individual to work within the team. The candidate must have a general Networking background, and be familiar with Routing and Switching, VLANS, protocols such as OSPF & BGP, TCP/IP & UDP.

Note: You must be able to hold a security clearance level of DV (mandatory for the position) if not already cleared to that level.

What we're looking for
  • Minimum of Cisco CCNA or equivalent certification / experience working on Cisco equipment: Current Certification desirable (lapsed certification considered).
  • 3 years minimum previous experience in the field
  • Experience of working within a multi-classification Network environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and standards is also desirable.
  • Experience with DNA Centre (Catalyst Centre), ACI & ISE is also desirable.

You will be required to evaluate potential new solutions / options as they arise, and review the current solutions / infrastructure with view to improvement. Training on new platforms will be provided as they are introduced (for familiarity), and you will be encouraged to keep skills / certifications up to date.

The Role
  • Maintaining the MBDA Network equipment to the correct standards required to meet MoD accreditation
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new Network solutions into the MBDA UK and Group environment and roadmap.
  • Installation and support of various Networking solutions as part of the team activities
  • Lead or assist with examination of non-standard or project requirements from: end customers, internal product-facing teams, IT colleagues, support / outsourcing partners and others.
  • Manage and own specific project lifecycles from instigation to operational handover.
  • To assist with management of 3rd party suppliers and their delivery of solutions and services across MBDA (UK).
  • Review of Project Documentation.
  • Support to project management colleagues in providing specialist technical input and consultancy for project activities.
  • Creation of documentation and presentation materials in support of business activities.
  • Close cooperation with the Security Operations Centre (SoC) and Information Security teams (Infosec) to ensure the highest standards of secure design.
  • Assistance and support to other Network projects and solutions
  • Change Approval Board (CAB) submissions and actively taking part in CAB discussions around approvals
