WHAT TO EXPECT 

This is a great opportunity for somone with a huge passion for the automotive industry, who is well educated, ideally to PHD level in Mechatrnonics or Fluid Management or something similiar and is keen to work with JLR to help grow the EDU division. The role will focus on Heat exchangers, Pressure sensors, Lubricants, Extractor Valves and more. If you are just finishing your PHD or you have a PHD and 1-2 years Automotive expereince this could be the dream role for you.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • To manage product development processes and deliver according to component(s) creation and delivery system (CCDS).
  • To lead and coordinate cross-functional CCDS team including purchasing, CAD design, validation, STA, supplier, manufacturing, and service to ensure all APQP deliverables are fulfilled, and status agreed upon by the program team.
  • To manage and coordinate verification and validation of C&L commodities by Technical Compliance Plan in an Agile scrum framework. 
  • To manage and own XFMEA analysis for C&L commodities at component, subsystem, and system levels.
  • To autonomously lead problem resolution for key technical issues using a problem-solving approach DIMAC. 

 

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Essential:   

  • Ph.D. in Tribology, Mechanical, Automotive, and Aerospace engineering. 
  • Deep understanding and experience designing cooling and lubrication systems and components.
  • Ability to apply product development processes, tools & techniques ideally in Automotive or Aerospace.
  • Knowledge of the management and application of CAD design techniques.
  • Experience in the creation of and maintaining XFMEAs.
  • Clear understanding of the Electric Vehicle and EDU subsystems: Inverter, Motor, Transmission
