WHAT TO EXPECT

NVH is acknowledged to be one of the key vehicle level attributes that supports premium brand positioning, and links directly to customer perceptions of the vehicle. Indeed, NVH is one of the defined DNA attributes for both Jaguar and Range Rover brands. As we introduce more Hybrid and BEV vehicles this aspect is more important than ever. 

The delivery of the NVH attribute is constantly progressed and reviewed across all programmes, and this has led to a new group being established within NVH to ensure end to end quality.  As a part of that team, you will be required to lead multiple initiatives to help improve the validation process, reduce variability in production build phases, and drive more robust NVH delivery within JLR.  You will need to work with the NVH team and the wider business to pull in the required people to achieve these goals.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Work within an Agile framework to track work priorities and support programme / project status
  • Support prototype and production build phases on a given programme / platform
  • Support delivery of the NVH attribute on a given programme / platform
  • Plan and investigate NVH quality issues
  • Lead quality improvement projects

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Follow vehicle development and highlight concerns which risk robust NVH delivery
  • Provide guidance, best practice and influence the design
  • Be able to create and manage plans to investigate issues
  • Be able to take NVH measurements at a vehicle level on the proving ground surfaces
  • Be able to subjectively assess vehicles and identify NVH issues and possible causes
  • Support the Product Owner and level 2 attribute squad leaders to ensure robust NVH sign off and delivery
  • Understand voice of the customer (internal and external) including analysis of external quality data, warranty analysis and internal survey metrics

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Essential:

  • Analytical skills and logical test planning to investigate NVH issues
  • Good reporting, recommendation and presentation skills
  • Ability to plan and lead specific activities
  • Understanding of statistical analysis methods (6 sigma etc.)
  • Understanding of failure mode analysis methods (FMEA, DFMEA)
  • Excellent team working and adaptability
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Applicants should be educated to degree level

Desirable:

  • NVH measurement and signal processing analysis experience
