Lifting Gear UK originated in Leyland, Preston and are the largest privately owned lifting equipment provider in the UK, not only focusing on equipment hire, but also providing product sales and services such as heavy lifting projects, contract lifting and bespoke design and fabrication.

The role:

Are you an experienced Lifting Engineer based in or around the London area ready for your next career move to a Company that really values your contribution?

As a Lifting Equipment Engineer, you'll be responsible for carrying out on-site inspections on lifting equipment and lifting accessories, in accordance with LOLER Regulations, as well as on site testing of beams and anchor points. You will also assist local depot's with workshop duties such as: inspection, test and run, repairs and servicing on equipment in our hire fleet, and for customers equipment. .

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • You will carry out fault finding procedures, recognise the defective items, conduct the necessary repairs effectively and restore the equipment to a safe working condition.
  • We are looking for candidates who are motivated and keen to learn about our specialist products and build their industry knowledge, along with:
  • Carry out inspection on various types of Lifting equipment in accordance with LOLER & PUWER
  • Service Repair and Inspect Lifting equipment on customer sites and the company's workshop
  • Complete necessary paperwork in line with the companies set procedures
  • Adhere to Quality, Health and Safety Environment regulations

To succeed as a Lifting Engineer you will bring the following skill-set and behaviours

  • Experience of carrying out Lifting Equipment inspections on items including Chains, Slings, Shackles, Manual/Powered Hoists, Lifting Beams, Runway Beams plus various other forms of Lifting and Handling Equipment
  • LEEA Qualifications or time served in relevant industry is advantageous
  • Good Understanding of method statements and risk assessments
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Attention to detail and accuracy when completing inspection paperwork
  • A good understanding of the fundamentals of general engineering required
