Job Title: PCV Mechanic (Heavy Vehicle)

Location: Edinburgh

Salary: £30k plus enhanced overtime rate

Job type: Permanent, Full time.

The Role: Edinburgh Coach Lines Ltd have been one of Scotland's premier coach and bus hire specialists for over 40 years and operate a fleet of 35 luxury vehicles ranging in size from 24 - 53 seats.

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen within the group for an experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to work in our busy workshop in Edinburgh.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Fault finding, and carrying out repairs
• Undertaking Vehicle maintenance, servicing and running repairs on a varied fleet
• M.O.T preparation
• Ensure vehicles are maintained in accordance with the Company Operators Licence guidelines
• Ensure all repairs to company vehicles are carried out in a timely manner
• Preventative Maintenance
• Fault Diagnostics
• Prompt repair of all defective vehicles to the highest standard
• The ability to work to the highest Health & Safety standards

Required Skills/Qualifications:

• City and Guilds/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Repair and Maintenance
• Previous experience of working on commercial vehicles such as Volvo, Scania, Mercedes
• PCV licence preferred but not essential (prepared to go through test)
• Have proven Diagnostic skills and Electrical experience
• Able to demonstrate knowledge and experience as an HGV or PSV Technician/Mechanic
• Carry out routine inspections, maintenance and repairs on all makes of vehicles to DVSA standard
• Ability to actively seek solutions to problems
• Good verbal communication skills
• Flexibility to undertake a wide range of tasks
