What to expect 

 

As part of the Product Engineering’s Powertrain function as a xHEV CAE Integration Lead Engineer, you will play a critical role in the development of next generation JLR products.  You will have the opportunity to support a team in the development of Propulsion Units & Powertrain Systems through the delivery of CAE analyses and virtual processes.  This role will focus on the execution of the virtual DVP to support design development and gateway readiness.  You will possess a strong technical project delivery background and an understanding of CAE techniques and processes, with particular focus on electrified Powertrains. As a CAE Integration Lead, you will work with the Powertrain team across a variety of attributes and disciplines within the Powertrain CAE Chapter.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the virtual DVP, creation, planning and execution through the full programme life cycle
  • Ensure analysis tasks are delivered at the appropriate time and with the appropriate quality through an Agile delivery framework
  • Ensure all analysis results & recommendations are successfully integrated into the product design
  • Advise Chapter leads and developers of programme assumptions, priorities & important project developments
  • Ensure quality of analysis through efficient data management and control of model inputs – e.g. CAD/NGD
  • Present CAE status and lead formal reporting at all levels of the organisation
  • Support physical DV and align correlation, instrumentation and test based issue resolution activities
  • Ensure visibility of all programme & technical issues and lead issue resolution activities to completion
  • Act as key point of contact for the CAE team with all stakeholders, including design squads, vehicle teams and across multiple CoC’s

 

What you will need:

 

  • Proven automotive powertrain design or CAE delivery experience with the ability to construct and manage design verification plans
  • Experience of developing Powertrain attribute performance and interpreting results from associated CAE analysis
  • Strong attention to detail and a rigorous approach to problem solving, managing complexity & data management
  • Excellent presentation and communications skills
  • Effective team member, highly proactive, self-motivated, demonstrating personal drive and initiative, with flexibility to manage multiple tasks within a broad-ranging role.
