Job Title: Planning Engineer

Location: Oldham, Manchester

Salary: £35 - £40k

Job Type: Full time, Permanent - 37.5 hours per week

Oldham Engineering Limited is a well-established medium sized engineering business with a long history and exciting plans for business growth.

Job Purpose: Produce detailed schedules for purchasing and detailed job planning for manufacturing departments in line with technical details and technical specifications supplied by the customer.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Produce detailed schedules for purchasing and detailed job planning for manufacturing departments in line with technical details and technical specifications supplied by the customer.
  • Able to read, understand technical drawings and understand technical requirements of the customer's order to create detailed manufacturing plans.
  • Produce detailed schedules for the purchasing department to procure both raw materials and sub contract services.
  • Produce detailed job planning for the manufacturing process using the most efficient/cost effective process available.
  • Produce detailed Autocad drawings, Sketches and plant drawings ready for manufacture when necessary.

Skills and experience required:

  • Time served in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Auto-cad Software Experience is essential.
  • Previously worked in medium to heavy engineering
  • Strong IT skills - Including Excel & Microsoft Project
