WHAT TO EXPECT
The role is for a Powertrain Calibration and Controls Integration Engineer, responsible for the integration of sub-system calibrations and delivery of propulsion software to manufacturing and service for future and current Jaguar and Land Rover high performance ICE and electrified products.
You will work alongside Project and Calibration Lead Engineers in resolving system and attribute integration issues, including emissions, OBD, driveability, torque management, aftertreatment and hybrid control. You will also support prototype and pre-production builds, and work with other stakeholders inside and outside of powertrain on issue resolution.
The role covers a breadth of whole vehicle control system knowledge and the opportunity to work in-vehicle, on virtual and physical test benches, and a variety of test facilities such as climatic chambers.
You will be responsible for the calibration work package delivery on time, to target and process, and will be performing sign-off testing and documenting results through the writing of technical reports and data management. You will be supporting the attribute teams in calibration delivery, driving calibration commonality across propulsion derivatives, writing calibration status reports, managing and performing data analysis, and assisting with software validation.
As the Powertrain Calibration and Controls Integration Engineer, you will also support Issues resolution within the attribute team, cross-functional stakeholders, development and manufacturing pre-production builds, and will be responsible for controlling allocated test objects, ensuring that they are effectively utilised and remain representative as the programme progresses towards production.
Day to day you will be supporting and presenting at technical and project reviews as well as supporting the attribute team with the creation and feedback of calibration methodology, best practice processes, sign-off procedures, and definition of internal/external requirements.
