The role

As a Principal Digital Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will capture the clients requirements for a huge 10-year major infrastructure project and articulate these back to the design team.

Day to day, you'll work with 3D designers to develop processes and procedures for BIM modelling.

  • Supporting the authoring key BIM documentation and workflows aligned to industry best practice.
  • Managing the roll out and implementation of the above within a client organisation, across a programme of works and at project level.
  • Managing the communication of BIM and Digital strategy, documentation & workflows to stakeholders.
  • Inputting into digital risk identification and mitigation
  • Managing digital transformation and strategy on programmes
  • Supporting the interface with clients, design teams and contractors implementing BIM methodologies and best practice from strategy level through to project delivery.

This role is full time 37 hours per week and can be based at Bristol, Warrington or Newbury with hybrid working arrangements i.e. primarily home working with some travel to Babcock and client sites (expenses paid).

Essential experience of the Principal Digital Engineer

  • Experience in BIM at managerial level
  • Knowledge of ISO19650 standards
  • Stakeholder management experience

Qualifications for the Principal Digital Engineer:

  • Design and construction qualification is desirable

Please note that this position is subject to enhanced national security vetting. The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements (this may include obtaining SC, NNPPI or Developed Vetting (DV) level of security clearances).
