Job Title: Principal Electrical Engineer

Location: Salisbury

Salary: £55,000 to £62,000

Job type: Full Time, 42 hours a week, hours predominantly on days with flexible start/finish times, but will need to cover needs of a 24/7 operation.

The role:

We are currently looking for a Principal electrical engineer to develop and supervise electrical projects within Chemring Countermeasure.

The responsibilities of the role include (but are not limited to):

• Ensure all assets are safe and reliable through the development of an effective maintenance regime
• Provide subject matter expertise to the business in the interpretation and implementation of the various legislative and regulatory requirements associated with electrical infrastructure in an explosives manufacturing site.
• Maintain and continuously improve management systems, plant, and equipment to meet Health, Safety and Environmental demands, as well as the improvement of plant reliability and effectiveness.
• Define and promote electrical specifications and standards
• Management of small capital projects (<£250k)

The Candidate:

• 4 years' experience in recognised trade
• Experience in a high hazard industry
• IT Skills (esp. AutoCAD, SolidWorks or similar)
• Knowledge of statutory requirements; Electricity at Work Act, DSEAR etc.
• Understanding of machinery safety principles
• Risk Assessments and Method Statements

A time-served engineering apprenticeship achieving:

• HNC/HND, Permitted to work in the UK, Full driving licence ,CompEx ,Electrical
