The opportunity:

The Portfolio Platform Integration Engineer supports many of MBDA's most exciting projects.  Operating through the Complex Weapons arrangement with UK MOD, you will apply your skills and knowledge to a variety of existing and future weapon systems, looking for common approaches to air platform / weapon integration, and seeking to improve both the programme and technical approaches to air platform integration.  You will help us to identify and understand cost drivers in integration, and look for opportunities for improvement across multiple programmes.

The ideal candidate for this role will have experience of aircraft / weapon integration or operation, and be able to understand the essential elements of the integration process.  The ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels across the Enterprise is also essential, as you may find yourself in discussion with integration engineers on both the aircraft and weapon sides, programme managers, military and MOD staff, and subject matter experts, identifying barriers to efficient integration and seeking solutions to integration challenges.  You will also engage with colleagues in other nations.

What we want from you:

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • A working knowledge of platform integration programmes and stakeholders within industry and MOD
  • At least 5 years of experience in the integration of complex systems
  • An understanding of the risks associated with weapon / platform integration
  • The ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders in all areas and levels
  • Experience with project management
  • The ability to drive and facilitate improvement

You will be joining a close-knit team of subject matter experts in various areas of weapon / air platform integration, giving you the opportunity to expand your technical and programme skills.  You will engage with designers and missile architects, helping drive enhancements to the integration approach through innovation and improvement.  You will help transform integration through close liaison with customers.  The role presents a unique opportunity to look across the missile development and integration process in a range of projects.
