The opportunity:

A fantastic opportunity to join the UK Product Assurance Equipment Engineering team, in which you will directly lead and manage the Mechanical Engineering and Seeker PA team.  Your team will support the functions which deliver a variety of equipment's in development and production phases across all major programmes. You will manage functional governance activities to achieve overall product and process compliance, assuring reliable products and increasing customer satisfaction.

Team Focus:

  • Leading, developing and motivating the Mechanical and Seeker Engineering PA team to enable objectives to be achieved.
  • Manage resource to ensure correct distribution of workload and supporting recruitment activities.
  • Implementation of overall Quality Vision and Strategy across the functions.

Product Focus:

  • Day to day support to the PA team influencing the correct Mechanical and Seeker Equipment decisions during the development phase.
  • Management and facilitation of Major investigations.
  • Product Life Cycle Gate Plan management ensuring accuracy & topicality.
  • Management co-ordination and quality signatory of Product Non-conformance and key Quality documentation across the ME and Seeker Equipment domain.
  • Attendance at key Quality, Project, Manufacturing & Equipment Team meetings to support critical milestones & influence priority within the management teams.
  • Responsible for PA across an equipment team by applying the PA roles and responsibilities
  • Generation & review of bids and estimates supporting new business.

Function Focus:

  • Lead, facilitate and influence ME process governance ensuring correct process ownership, awareness and adherence it maintained.
  • Manage and facilitate LRQA external audit, key Process Improvement & Lessons Learnt activities within ME.
  • Support to key management reviews providing the Quality view on key activities via Quality dashboards. 

What we're looking for from you:

  • An experienced quality professional, preferably within Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical systems with a proven track record.
  • Minimum HNC/HND in Engineering but preferably Degree level or equivalent experience.
  • Practitioner of current QA problem solving and improvement methods (8D, RCA, DMAIC, etc.)
  • Good knowledge of the product lifecycle - specifically in development.
  • Leadership skills, behaviours & qualities with confidence to influence change at all levels of seniority.
  • Proficient in reporting analysing data; ability to run reports in Excel, use SAP QM system, and document management tools.
  • Ability to work internationally, respect cultural differences and adapt styles accordingly.
