The opportunity:

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to join our highly skilled and dynamic team where you can be at the forefront of influencing MBDA's future safety systems and telemetry products.

The purpose of the Safety Systems and Telemetry Product Lead is to own the definition and delivery of product strategies.  The role must influence future project roadmaps, policies and technical standards, ensuring compliance with wider Generic Missile/Systems Architecture (GMA/GSA) strategies. Influence project and portfolio decisions, ensuring our products remain cost effective, deliverable and meet the capability requirements of our future customers (domestic and export).

Working to an agreed product line strategy, you will lead and shape new proposals for architectural solutions to the point of acceptance by Project and Delivery Team across a diverse product range.

You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Influence programmes and future projects to adopt the product line approach to development
  • Collaborate with stakeholders both in the UK and Internationally
  • Connect multiple programmes and business functions to deliver to a common goal and identify future opportunities
  • Challenge established processes and "this is how we've always done it" mentality
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with academia, SME's and potential suppliers

This is a delivery focused multifunctional team tasked with design, development and qualification of technically complex, safety critical products for missile proving and series production. We have an unequalled reputation for use of modularity and re-use principles to reduce cost and schedule and risk.

What we're looking for from you:

  • The ideal candidate will have the ability to understand the technology and its potential uses.
  • This role requires someone that can think beyond the ‘here and now' and understand how our products can evolve in the future to meet the company and customer's needs.
  • Strategic thinker with strong influencing skills across peer groups and into senior management, both within the UK and International partners.
  • Ability to write clear and concise engineering documentation and present to all levels of the business.
