At Babcock we're working to create a safe and secure world, together, and if you join us, you can play your part as a Production Engineer at our Devonport site.

The role
As a Production Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will oversee the process of overhaul and repair for submarine parts, in terms of documentation. There are multiple projects dealing with the replacement of obsolete parts or working with bespoke parts.

Day to day, you'll undertake production control activities to meet specified project delivery and ISO 9001 quality targets.

  • Support shop floor with testing, repair, overhaul of valves and other parts.
  • Creating paperwork to ensure drawings, DI charts, specifications are correct.
  • Liaising with Materials Engineers and Parts Creation Unit.

Essential experience of the Production Engineer

  • Mechanical Engineering Background in complex engineering environment (aviation, marine or nuclear etc.).
  • Experience as a fitter, or project engineer.

This role is 36 hours per week with an early finish on a Friday. It is fulltime on site but we do offer some flexibility in working patterns.

Qualifications for the Production Engineer

  • ONC or HNC in engineering discipline preferred.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
