The role

As a Project Control Officer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. This is an exciting opportunity to join our Warship business and be part of our drive towards enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the Babcock support value stream, and delivering world class engineering support services to its customers.


Day to day, you'll be involved in the following:

  • Cost and Schedule control reporting
  • KPI performance reporting
  • Risk management
  • Deliver project controls across the programme
  • Stakeholder management including the UK Ministry of Defence customer


This role is full time, and can be based at either Devonport Royal Dockard, Bristol Business Park, Clyde - Faslane or Rosyth. We offer a flexible, hybrid working arrangement with a blend of days working onsite and from home.

Essential experience of the Project Control Officer

  • Experience of working on high risk, high complexity programmes and projects.
  • Financial performance management & commercial awareness
  • Project Controls
  • Risk and Change Management
  • Ability to operate in a partnering environment with other Managers, Senior Leaders, and Customers
  • Experience of working on high risk, high complexity programmes and projects

This role provides flexible hybrid working arrangements.

Qualifications for the Project Control Officer

  • Degree level or equivalent qualification in Business/Finance/IT/Mathematics.
  • Project Management Qualification (APM, PRINCE2, P3O)

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance level for this role.
