The role
As a Project Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary . You'll provide comprehensive engineering expertise to oversee and control all aspects of Alterations & Additions (A&A), installations and class modifications carried out by installation contractors on vessels during fleet time maintenance periods, ensuring the programme is completed to agreed timelines.

Day to day, you'll identify pre-installation requirements, materials, stores, manufacture and engage fleet engineering sections or contracted support by arranging and conducting start up meetings on planned installation activities to allow installation to commence in accordance with agreed start date.

  • Provide professional engineering support to resolve installation and resourcing issues to ensure progress against agreed planned timelines.
  • Record progress against planned timelines, record projected timelines against actual, and brief all parties at daily and weekly progress meetings on any installation or resource issues.
  • Capture and record actual man-hours and costs against estimates.
  • Operating with a continuous improvement focus on processes and procedures through learning from experience meetings where best practice will be identified, recorded and implemented
  • Attendance at design reviews on and off site inputting specialist knowledge on installation issues and ship systems.

This is a full time role mainly based onsite. Agile working arrangements and potential hybrid flexibility upon the hiring managers discretion. 37 hours per week - Monday to Thursday 8:00 - 16:30 and Friday 8:00 - 13:00.

Essential experience of the Change Delivery Project Engineer:

  • Experience in Electrical or Mechanical or marine engineering, nuclear warship construction or maintenance including Nuclear Steam Raising Plant (NSRP).
  • Formal nuclear warship systems training equivalent to at least Nuclear Introductory Course. Experience of maintenance planning processes.
  • Experience in a ship systems maintenance and installation procedures.

Qualifications for the Change Delivery Project Engineer:

  • HNC or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Nuclear Introductory Course

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role. This role is ITAR implicated.
