The role
As a Project Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. This role is integral to Babcock, ensuring the overall capability of our nuclear rated facilities and allowing for submarine program refits.

Day to day as a Project Engineer, you'll interface with our internal customers within Devonport Royal Dockyard, to ensure efficient and effective delivery of the following functions: support facility project start up, development of the estimation process and alignment with overarching facility's annual plan and Level one schedules.


Responsibilities as a Project Engineer will also include:

  • Expediting the project initiation process and support the estimation of work packages.
  • Assisting with the correct data set being captured in the Engineering services Facility Annual Plan.
  • Monitoring and reporting progress throughout the concept/definition project design capture phases.

This role is full-time, 36 hours per week with a hybrid working arrangement. You can expect to work onsite at our HMNB Devonport two days per week.

Essential experience of the Project Engineer:

  • Experience in a facility upgrade or construction projects.
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Preferable Primavera (P6) knowledge.
  • Effective writing and presentation skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft office applications.
  • Estimating techniques.

Qualifications for the Project Engineer:

  • Qualified to HNC / HND or equivalent in an Engineering-based subject.
  • Project management qualifications (APM / Prince2) would be advantageous.

The successful candidate must be a sole UK National and able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
