The role
As a Project Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary where you'll support the maintenance of nuclear assets on site. It is a dynamic and varied role where no two days or equipment is the same. You will get a wide exposure to the various operations onsite and play a pivotal role in the success and safe undertaking of the operations and maintenance of nuclear facilities.

Day to day, you'll plan and enable all maintenance and support readiness activities including planned maintenance, corrective maintenance, and reactive maintenance of nuclear facilities assets.
* Putting in place everything needed to deliver maintenance safely and efficiently, before the maintenance is undertaken
* Supporting reactive, unplanned maintenance and repair activities and be prepared to lead on the required actions or actively supporting them
* Acting as Technical Representative for Nuclear Facilities coordinating resources and making things happen, surveying assets to determine requirements or to escort sub-contractors and / or visitors
* Attending or leading maintenance readiness planning meetings, compile and present status reports and provide accurate updates for the work
* Ensuring documentation and records for maintenance, upgrade and repair activities are accurate and managed in accordance with formal processes and systems.

Essential experience of the Project Engineer
* Previous working knowledge/experience within an engineering discipline, ideally within a maintenance background consideration will be given to candidates with transferable experience
* Working knowledge of complex assets such as plant and facilities equipment
* Previous experience of creating basic project plans / work breakdown structures and managing yourself and stakeholders through their implementation
* Computer literate with the ability to use MS Office Packages Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint

This is a full time role (36 hours) based onsite at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Qualifications for the Project Engineer
* Minimum of NVQ Level 3 / ONC in Engineering discipline or similar, or equivalent working experience
* APM Project Fundamentals or prepared to achieve this qualification within 12 months of starting role.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance level for this role. Once in the role, you will need to be able to achieve NNPPI and Atomic clearance.
