We work with some World-famous brands, the majority of which are in the Motorsport industry however, we also supply products into the Aerospace, MOD and Marine industries so as you can imagine quality is of the utmost importance. We have a specially kitted out workshop, one that you would be proud to work in which is located conveniently just on the outskirts of Milton Keynes centre. We are recruiting for lots of new team members due to huge growth within our order books.

Job Purpose:

To convert customer requirements into design planning documentation, working closely with the Sales & Marketing team to ensure customer requirements are clearly identified and any discrepancies resolved.

The Job

As Project Manager, you will assess customer requirements to create a starting point for Design Engineers to create models. This will convey part number allocation, BoM structure, bought in component sourcing, participating in design reviews, and preparing relevant documentation. You will use Microsoft Office and data within PLM and MRP software to assist you.

Main Duties: 

  • Assess customer requirements from the Sales & Marketing team to create a starting point for Design Engineers to create models. This will convey part number allocation, BoM structure, bought in component sourcing, participating in design reviews, and preparing relevant documentation. Tools to assist the creation of this information will be MS Office, plus the use of data within PLM and MRP software.
  • Mapping designs and systems throughout the departmental lifecycle to ensure customer's requirements are met and follow company standards.
  • Work with Design Engineers to ensure all information is provided and communicated in the most effective manner.
  • Required to develop job knowledge in all areas of Fuel Cell, Systems and Component Design, and continually progress their engineering capabilities.
  • Checking bills of materials to ensure there are no inconsistencies or errors that could result in delays in release or delivery.
  • Collating data and reporting on departmental KPIs.
  • Source technical solutions with suppliers to enable Design work to commence on schedule with requisite information present from the outset.
  • Assist with Design Verifications to ensure specification requirements are met.
  • Assist Design Engineers with preparation of customer and supplier documentation.
  • Create Design release documentation for internal customers and suppliers.
  • Prioritise and plan workload of Design department.
  • Plan and allocate jobs to relevant individuals.
  • Use environmentally sustainable practices in accordance with our environmental policy.
  • Seek ways to reduce waste and energy usage in accordance with our environmental objectives You may be required to complete other tasks, as required by the business.

The Person and Skills Required:

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2:2 Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline.

Experience 

  • One year of relevant professional or academic experience.
  • Customer/supplier liaison experience.
  • Experience with generating technical bulletins, stakeholder relationship management, project management and ISO9001 QMS are all desirable but not essential.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to extract information from data sheets.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent non-verbal reasoning skills and attention to detail.
  • High Standard in MS suite.
