Quality Engineer
Location: Basingstoke/Reading
Salary: £37,860 - £48,000 depending on skills and experience

You will support delivery in a crucial role within AWE providing support to the UKs at sea deterrent.
Successful Candidates will be reporting to the Quality Engineering Manager responsible for:
- Ensuring that manufacturing processes are performed correctly using the right tools, materials, and processes.
- Creation of quality documentation and development of SOPs in line with regulatory requirements.
- Proactive review and improvement of systems and processes.
- Working closely with engineering and manufacturing staff to ensure quality protocols are followed and documentation is correctly maintained, implementing any new changes or adaptations based on a quality review.
- Validating inspection and testing of various parts of manufacturing including product, components, processes, and comparing against predefined standards.
- Audit process to ensure compliance with the proper quality standard/s and that safety requirements are met throughout the production process.
- Analysing problems reported and developing improvements to overcome them
- Statistical analysis of manufacturing data and creation of reports for senior team based on quality documentation.
- Working closely with internal partners and key stakeholders.
- Continuous improvement in the manufacturing process.
Whilst not to be considered a check list, candidates should be able to demonstrate some of the following:
- ONC/HNC, A Levels, Diploma Level 3 or equivalent NVQ level 3 in relevant subject.
- Membership of an industry related professional body.
- 2-5 years in a manufacturing or science environment preferred.
- Experience of working in Quality Assurance.
- Lead Auditor preferred; audit experience would be advantageous.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of measurement tools, techniques, and methodologies.
- Experience of dealing with customers and suppliers.
- Knowledge of APQP toolsets.
- Understanding manufacturing processes.
- Experience of Management Systems and related standards (e.g., ISO9001:2015)
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management.
- Good report writing and presentation skills, strong attention to detail and ability to present data effectively.
- Evidence of problem-solving root cause analysis and analytical skills.
- Proficient in MS Office software including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint & experience using Database/s.
