WHAT TO EXPECT

This opportunity is to join our Calibration & Controls team which plays an integral role in quality resolution across our vehicle portfolio. We are looking for a Quality Lead Engineer to be the technical focal point for Quality within Calibration and Controls.

In this role you will interface with core team SMEs and ensure you work as a team to solve challenging problems. You will provide technical guidance and support on problem solving, Quality issue management planning, process development, application and alignment across the C&C Quality team. You will lead the Calibration and Controls Quality issue resolution delivery across all programs in your respective areas and are directly responsible for the D2 to D6 elements of the 8D process

You will play an active role in providing solutions to Powertrain issues with our vehicles post manufacture, using a variety of problem solving techniques and working cross functionally you will introduce quality improvements for our customers. This can be software solutions, manufacturing process improvements, hardware change or any other solution to ensure that our customers can maintain the best experience with our vehicles.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

As a Quality Lead Engineer you will need to have demonstrable experience within the quality space and have a strong understanding of the 8D process. Ideally you will be Six Sigma trained to either Green or Black Belt level. You should feel comfortable leading projects and thrive solving challenging problems.

You should feel comfortable using calibration tools and techniques to aid you in data gathering, analysis and problem solving

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Understand the principles of embedded automotive control (Incl Diagnostics and Networks)
  • Understanding of System verification methods
  • User of calibration toolset; Matlab, Simulink, INCA, AVL Creta, Diadem,
  • Experience working with complex embedded software strategies
  • Experience in data driven technical reporting
  • Good communication and presentation skills

Desirable:

  • Prior Vehicle level calibration and test experience preferred
  • Experienced in the principles of 6- sigma and 8D processes
