WHAT TO EXPECT

 

The Finance department offers a unique and highly challenging experience with business-wide exposure and development, where the key to success is the ability to manage our internal customer's expectations, and deliver against their requirement using resources assigned against multiple and often conflicting priorities.

The Cost Engineering function is an integral part the Finance department and is responsible for ensuring the correct use of JLR funds appertaining to all aspects of supply chain in line with product aspirations to deliver profitable growth, by partnering the business in all other operational functions (principally Purchasing, Product Engineering, Advanced Product Creation, and other Finance functions).

In a new dynamic team within the newly structured Cost Engineering department. Raw Material Optimisation focuses primarily on the business’s raw material spend across production purchasing.

 

THE ROLE

To be successful in this role you’ll have previous experience working in a demanding environment with highly motivated and driven professionals; driven and self-motivated to address challenges proactively.  You’ll also have strong account and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence and build strong, lasting and influential relationships both inside of JLR and outside in the marketplace

What you’ll be responsible for: 

 

  • Internal price analysis of Commodity spends
  • Creating cost methodologies for raw material spend.
  • Updating & developing robust systems to maximise raw material coverage within existing systems.
  • Provide robust market achievable data for purchasing functions and support negotiations 
  • Work alongside finance to manage, approve & update the Auto –Materials system.
  • Construct sustainability models (Cost/C02 impact).

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

In order to be considered for this position you need to hold a formal qualification such as Degree within Engineering or any other relevant subjects.

You’ll need excellent presentation skills, ability to clearly communicate complex problems into simple, compelling messages or decisions to senior managers and external business partners; PowerPoint skills are highly required. You’ll have Analytical/problem solving intellect and analytical rigor, including negotiation capabilities
