WHAT TO EXPECT
Designing a world leading car starts by understanding & capturing what it needs to be, we need a experienced requirements engineer to bolster the team doing this.
You’ll be a key part of setting the requirements our teams engineer to, working with attribute stakeholders, other systems and our components, to capture their needs & ensure we really understand and can decompose what our customers want
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
• Lead the authoring, technical decomposition & maintenance of Suspension function group requirements for all stakeholders and sub-systems
• Ensure all stakeholders & vehicle features are identified & served.
• Work with systems engineering stakeholders to ensure requirements framework & tools meet the needs of our function group, including traceability, audit & change management.
• Be accountable for requirements quality, providing guidance to rest of CoC as required.
• Be accountable for traceability between requirements and test cases, working closely with the relevant V&V engineers
• Identify gaps & associated risk to prioritise work to increase coverage & develop requirements deck
• Ensure Solution architects have a clear deck of requirements to work to for each program
• Support sub-systems to ensure that cascaded requirements are understood and further decomposed & then cascaded to suppliers where appropriate.
• Further the systems engineering development within the wider team, acting as a champion of the methodology & practices.
• Define improvements to requirement management process, tools and templates, across Chassis / JLR business where appropriate

• Continually improve the requirements via quality reviews with engineers and other relevant stakeholders, recording the results and follow up actions
• Develop quality metrics to assess requirements quality standards over time
• Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested
WHAT YOU NEED
Knowledge, Skills and experience
Essential
• Technical requirements authoring – structure & phrasing
• Experience with systems engineering including boundary diagrams (context, logical & physical), DFMEA, test cases.
• Knowledge of chassis & suspension
Desirable
• Excellent interpersonal skills, able to understand stakeholder needs
• Knowledge of Vehicle dynamics, NVH, Durability.
• Knowledge of Model Based Systems engineering
• JIRA/xray
