The role
As a Safe Systems Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll ensure safe execution of works onsite in accordance with MOD contract.
Day to day, you'll provide support to the operational teams with the co-ordination of the programme of works for the area including a schedule of inspections as required by the contract, keep a watching brief on the management of a central database of skilled persons, ensuring that records of all certifications and interviewing where necessary any candidates prior to approval and issue, renewal and withdrawal of any certification and rule books as required.
Key duties
* When necessary, issue in full compliance with regulatory standards, all documentation to any skilled person as required to undertake their particular role within the restrictions of their certificate of appointment.
* Construct and manage a database of all electrical installations, mechanical systems, petroleum installations, Confined Spaces and High Places within the geographical area of responsibility, annotating any Health & Safety restrictions, operating restrictions or maintenance records.
* Engage the resource of the other Authorised Persons appointed for the installations to deliver Authorised Person Electrical, Hazardous Areas, Petroleum Mechanical, Confined Spaces & Working at Height.
Essential experience of the Safe Systems Manager
* Extensive relevant professional experience in a technical subject.
* You must hold or have ability to obtain Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) security clearance.
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance level for this role.
