The role
The difference our new Safety Engineer will make
As a Safety Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary where you'll support the delivery of safety and environmental tasking and develop Babcock, Submarine Support Engineering capability.
Day to day, you'll carry out submarine material state assurance, safety case management, hazard management, platform certification and legislation, Commission and Life Extension (COMEX / LIFEX), Hazard Identification and Analysis (HIA), Environmental Impact Screening Studies (EISS) and design change / product safety management.

Essential experience
* HND or Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline;
* Self-motivated and possess excellent communication skills;
* Demonstrable record of presenting professional outputs both verbally and in writing;
* IEng accredited with the Engineering Council or actively progressing application;
* Project management experience is desirable;
* Safety and Environmental Management Training (SEMT) (or equivalent) is considered an advantage.
* You will need to satisfy security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving 'Security Check' (SC) clearance.
