The Safety Group, comprising a head of group and 2 engineers, is responsible for the safety of the 500 members of the ILL staff, of the Institute's 1500 annual users, and of its service suppliers.


The safety engineers report directly to the Head of the Safety Group. The engineer recruited will work within the team on the following:
- Preventive measures and controls in the safety domain, such as:proposing general health and safety instructions and procedures to be followed,
- producing the associated documentation (work authorisation forms, occupational hazard and exposure sheets, workstation risk analyses, risk prevention plans, accident analyses, single assessment documents, etc.) both for ILL operations and work performed by outside contractors,
- checking that the measures are applied, via visits and audits,
- advising senior management on the legal and regulatory measures applicable, and monitoring changes in regulations and standards.
- Needs assessment and provision of information, awareness-raising and training.
- Safety studies for jobsites, new instruments and ILL experiments.
- Liaising with the CSSCT [Commissions Santé, Sécurité et Conditions de Travail] (statistics, annual health and safety report) and assistance in the liaison with external agencies (labour inspectorate, inspection bodies, etc.).
- Providing assistance in the organisation of emergency response operations in the event of an accident, and in the preparation, conducting and assessment of safety drills.
- Managing dangerous non-radioactive waste and material (transport, recovery, elimination, reporting).
- Preparation and follow-up of statutory inspections (electrical equipment, lifting gear, pressure vessels, etc.).
- Managing equipment containing refrigeration fluids and fluorinated greenhouse gases as the process manager.

Your profile
- Level 7 qualification (Master's degree or equivalent) in QHSE or similar.
- At least 5 years' experience in a similar post.
- Excellent writing skills in French.
- Familiarity with nuclear installations and/or radioactivity would be an advantage.
- You are independent, methodical, and meticulous in your work
- Good team spirit is indispensable.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
