Salary: up to £28,000 depending on experience

Dynamic (hybrid) working: on-site working

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

Work Pattern: Work pattern is subject to shift pattern, consisting of 3 to 4 days of 12 hr shifts - blended as days and nights.

The opportunity:

Your responsibilities will include managing access, operating, and monitoring all security and safety equipment at our Bolton location. You'll also respond to relevant incidents. Daily tasks will involve using a range of security systems including Access Control System, CCTV, Radio Communication Systems, Perimeter Intruder Detection systems, among others.

You will be a crucial part of an adept and highly skilled Security team, working in 12-hour shifts doing patrols, securing buildings, handling Control Room operations, responding to emergencies, and acting as the initial incident controller.

You'll become part of a dedicated and driven team in charge of all aspects of physical and procedural Security. The role also provides opportunities for skills development in additional roles like Cryptographic Material Control and Electronic Counter Measure.

What we're looking for from you:

  • Ability to undertake shift work, both days and nights, with potential requirement to travel and work at other MBDA UK sites
  • Good proven understanding of security/safety processes
  • Numeracy and IT skills (Word/Email/PowerPoint/Excel) to facilitate security tasks
  • Excellent report writing abilities
  • A cooperative, helpful attitude and a composed professional demeanour, when interacting with both internal and external customers
  • The ability to perform under pressure, such as in emergencies, and to adapt when plans change at the last minute.
  • A standout colleague who can foster good relationships within the team
