XEIAD, a part of the BES Group, are the largest provider of civil infrastructure inspections in the UK.

Specialising in difficult access our teams have extensive experience inspecting structures such as bridges, culverts, retaining walls, tunnels, and shafts across industry sectors such as Rail, Highways, Marine, Utilities and Defence.

We are currently engaged in the delivery of numerous projects throughout the UK for and on behalf of many asset owners, managers and a large diversity of engineering consultancies including Network Rail, National Highways, Balfour Beatty, Kier and Atkins to name just a few.

Having recently joined the BES Group we are able to offer our customers even more critical asset and risk management services.

Reporting to the Senior Assurance Engineering Team Manager you will ensure full implementation and compliance with key processes and Safety Responsibility Matrix Act as deputy to the Structures Team Manager, undertaking responsibilities as directed Support the Technical Head - Rail in technical and engineering issues.

As Senior Assurance Engineer you will undertake the process of engineering STE2 review and submission of examination reports within your region, including risk scoring and recommendations, in accordance with the contract specification and timescales.

We are looking for someone who can build reputation and relationships in a team environment as you will coach, mentor and supervise all Engineers within the team and support their career development to promote a highly engaged and high-performing team.

You will be required to undertake on-call duties as Duty/Engineering Manager, the role of Nominated CRE Engineering for Routes within your region and tunnel examination (STE6) as required.

When required you will investigate any incidents related to structures examination activities and provide technical support and advice relative to these incidents.

Skills and Experience:

• At least 10years engineering experience in structures examination, maintenance or construction
• Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related discipline (additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu on an individual basis).
• Chartered or Incorporated Civil or Structural Engineer (additional relevant experience, qualifications or professional status may be considered in lieu on an individual basis)
• Knowledge and understanding of the key engineering processes and technical standards for delivering structural examinations on the rail infrastructure
• Knowledge and understanding of Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental procedures STE2 competent
• Full, clean UK driving licence
• IT Literate (Microsoft Office)
