Package: £37,860 - £60,000 (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience)

AWE is currently recruiting for a Senior Electronics Engineer for the Hydrodynamics Delivery Unit

This role is ideally suited to electronics engineers who enjoys hands-on working with an aptitude for fault diagnosis and problem solving with some experience leading small teams.

Working within the Hydrodynamics Delivery Unit the successful candidate will be required to monitor and manage the electronics lab, schedule, maintain and test "in use" equipment and be heavily involved with ensuring manufacture to the design specifications within a heavily regulated industry.

In addition to supporting the current "in service" hardware you will also support development, design, and field new diagnostic hardware. You will work with a variety of tools to design bespoke equipment varying from low voltage PCB's to custom high voltage enclosures to support trials.

Who are we looking for?

We do need you to have the following:

  • HND or HNC with relevant experience in Electronics Engineering.
  • Experience or knowledge of High Voltage and circuit design.

Whilst not to be considered a tick list, we'd like you to have experience in some of the following:

Fault finding, problem solving, repair and maintenance of electronic hardware.

  • Design, build and test of new hardware.
  • Experience on hardware such as data capture systems.
  • Leading small teams or projects

You'll need to have the ability to work calmly and constructively in a priority changing environment and be able to manage your own workload. You will also have initiative, enthusiasm, a flexible approach, and ability to work to tight deadlines to industry standards.

Due to the classified nature of the work involved, there are limited opportunities to work from home in this role. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will spend the majority of their time working on site at AWE Aldermaston.
