The role

As a Senior Engineer - Civil & Structural, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary where you'll act as 'intelligent customer' reviewing designs prepared by others.

Day to day, you'll provide leadership and technical support in the delivery of engineering and technical activities associated with the generation of new floating pontoons and mooring options for submarines at Devonport Dockyard.

  • Ensure effective management of multi discipline teams to ensure timely & efficient delivery of engineering work to meet customer agreed scope.
  • Ensure effective management of the customer, including liaison and relationship development with existing and new customers, to aid the development of business, resolution of technical and delivery issues, and such that the customer is fully briefed and informed of progress
  • Ensure technical management of the engineering output to ensure delivery of technical solutions in line with agreed technical scope.
  • Ensure application of highest standards for health and safety in immediate area of responsibility and ensure all team members across engineering co-operate with respect to company standards about matters on health, safety and environment, ethics and behaviours.

Essential experience of the Senior Engineer - Civil & Structural

  • The ideal candidate will have design experience of heavy civil and structural engineering (e.g. ports and harbours, power and industrial facilities).
  • Previous experience in the nuclear industry is highly desirable but not essential.

This is a full time, permanent role working 36 hours with a mix of working from home and onsite at Devonport.

Qualifications for the Senior Engineer - Civil & Structural

  • Ideally, they will have a BEng or Meng Civil Engineering Degree
  • The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance level for this role.
