WHAT TO EXPECT 

 

Leading Jaguar and Land Rover push into internal software development capability with respect to the Chassis Axle Performance, we are looking for a highly motivated software engineer to join the Digital Engineering team.

 

Software development using MATLAB is a key component of our capability improvement framework. Software tool deployment is absolutely integral to the Chassis Attributes team. The Digital Engineering Team provide solutions to understand, process and visualise complex simulation and vehicle data.

 

The role will enable JLR to increase efficiency and robustness.  This is delivered by having common integrated software tools and a high degree of process automation, tailored to serve the needs of the engineering team within Chassis Attributes.  These tools exist to enable robust and rapid engineering decisions when delivering JLR products of the future.

 

The successful candidate will be an AGILE advocate and practitioner and will be responsible for task delivery in a SCRUM team. Ideally they will have experience in a formal programming language, ideally an object oriented language.


 Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

  • Lead project delivery
  • Responsible for creating and managing database structures
  • Responsible for developing MATLAB toolboxes and processing functions
  • Ensure cross-functional requirements are integrated in to Centre of Competence delivery teams
  • Validate targets created in the strategy phase to ensure they can be delivered robustly
  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested from time to time

 

WHAT YOU NEED


 Knowledge and experience

 

Essential:

  • Experienced programmer (ideally MATLAB)
  • Knowledge of OOP and TDD
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Degree or relevant equivalent experience preferred

 

Desirable:

  • AGILE advocate and SCRUM practitioner
  • Previous experience of leading the resolution of business, technical and process issues within a project team environment
  • Project management experience
  • Good working knowledge of Product Creation Delivery System (or similar process)
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle dynamics fundamentals and suspension components
