The Senior Engineer (Weapons Engineering) role is based within our Devonport Royal Dockyard business area.

Comprising of 14 dry docks, four miles of waterfront and 25 tidal berths, Devonport is the base for numerous surface vessels as well as the base and refit centre for the Trafalgar-class nuclear-powered submarines. Devonport has also recently been selected as the base port for the Navy's new Type 26 frigates and will become the maintenance centre for the future submarine programme.

The role

The difference our new Senior Engineer (Weapons Engineering) will make
As a Senior Engineer (Weapons Engineering), you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary working within the Dynamic Support Business in the delivery of complex deep maintenance periods for the Royal Navy's T23 Frigates.

Day to day, you'll liaise with incoming and outgoing Weapon Engineer Officers as vessels come in and out of upkeep. You will be responsible for the status of WE equipment and documentation presented by RSG and the formal handover of such.

Essential experience

* HNC/HND qualified or equivalent in an engineering specialisation with significant demonstrable experience
* You will be an experienced Engineer with a track record of successful project delivery and delivering change.
* An excellent communicator you will be comfortable with written and verbal communications with the ability to interact at all levels.
* You will have a good understanding of systems engineering and be agile and adaptable
* The successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role.
