The role

As a Senior Planning Engineer within our Major Infrastructure Projects, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Babcock provides services including fleet time engineering, facilities management, waterfront services, logistics and transport within an agreed operating budget, firmly focused on continuous and sustainable improvement in warship and submarine support.

Day to day, you'll be supporting project managers in delivery of projects by providing a high level planning service for the preparation of project plans, producing baseline scheduled tasks, resource profiles and financial models.

• Prepare robust tender and contract programmes using the designated planning tool
• Fully resource programmes, produce resource histograms, resource level programmes, understand and communicate the effect on programme schedules to project team
• Include appropriate financial data in the programme to produce a project cost/time distribution profile and communicate the results to the project team
• Display and analyse the project Critical Path and advise the project team of the results and any appropriate corrective action
• Produce/maintain project baselines and execute the change control process as appropriate

Essential experience of the Senior Planning Engineer

• Have significant experience of Primavera P6 (essential)
• You will have planning experience in a project based engineering environment using Primavera planning software.
• Project planning and change management for small/medium/large sized projects.
• Worked with Project Managers to deliver successfully packages of work on major multi-disciplined projects.
• ideally you will have experience in the infrastructure / defence domain or a highly regulated industry

This is a full time, permanent position to be based at Devonport, Hyrbid 2-3 days on-site with working from home options

Qualifications for the Senior Planning Engineer

• You will hold a HNC or equivalent in a relevant engineering subject

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance level for this role.
