This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance work across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (MEH), cabling and associated support services. This innovative approach will help different contractors work as a single entity to deliver the complex installation of cabling and pipework in the power station's vast network of rooms.

The role

As a Senior Project Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Being part of the MEH Alliance working on Hinkley Point C is a chance to be involved in a major construction project with national significance. You will be supporting a growing site-wide scope with packages of works and/with tier one contractors.

Day-to-day, you'll support how packages of works are conventionalised moving forward from 'kick-off' meetings such as defining scope, cost, risk profile to project, governance and also the management of funding.

  • Instrumental in the identification of Tier 1 Contractor requirements and scope capture exercises
  • To assist in the analysis of construction proposals for Temporary Electrical, Lifting, Temporary Works, HVAC and Logistics. Analysis, factoring design, cost, site wide resource levels, on-going commitments, supplier lead times and required by dates
  • Over-see the design & installation of enabling services
  • Production of build schedule & adherence to schedule, providing data on forecast/planned & actuals

This role is full time, thirty-seven hours per week, and is based on site at Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater.

Essential experience of the Senior Project Engineer

  • Track record in site construction or nuclear projects preferred
  • Experience in a construction/project engineering-based environment
  • Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics
  • Experience working on major construction projects preferred
  • Experienced with NEC/JCT/FIDIC contract frameworks advantageous


Qualifications for the Senior Project Engineer

  • Degree qualified in a technical or construction related discipline, or, demonstrable relatable experience
  • Experience in a construction/project engineering-based environment
  • CCNSG Safety Passport or HSE MAPS
  • IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH is desirable
  • SSSTS/SMSTS is desirable

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) clearance for this role.
