An opportunity to work on an exciting and challenging programme, liaising with stakeholders across MBDA and the FCAS enterprise, establishing key transversal areas such as safety and ensuring we are ready for key project milestones.

What we can offer you:
The opportunity:
FCAS is one of the largest, most exciting and challenging programmes within Defence – a once-in-a-generation opportunity to design and deliver a Future Combat Air System (FCAS) for the RAF in record time. The key cornerstone of FCAS is the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP), which sees the UK working with our international partners Italy and Japan. FCAS and GCAP combined present a unique opportunity to influence the design of the fighter aircraft and its weapon system to reflect a new approach to the employment of effects and weapon integration rather than a more traditional integration of effectors to an air platform.
The FCAS portfolio consists of a number of different projects and contracts looking at different areas within Combat Air. MBDA UK is involved in a number of these projects including the main UK FCAS Acquisition Programme which encompasses the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP) as well as the TEMPEST project, under the FCAS Technology Initiative (TI), where some novel technologies are being explored.
We have a great opportunity arising within our Systems Engineering Integration Team. The SEI team enables effective communication, collaboration, and alignment across MBDA, FCAS, and the wider enterprise. Acting as a conduit between stakeholders, teams, and functions, we leverage transversal expertise to facilitate knowledge sharing, coordinate systems engineering activities, and ensure the delivery of a coherent, high-value capability on time, to cost, and to quality.
This opportunity will include managing, tailoring and implementing the MBDA lifecycle processes throughout the FCAS Programme. The role involves working across the whole project to define and implement how engineering elements of the project will operate, ensuring that it is following appropriate processes and guiding parts of the project through the relevant design reviews and project gates. There will be opportunity to engage in transversal areas such as safety. There are multiple opportunities to engage with senior stakeholders both within FCAS, its external stakeholders and the wider MBDA business.
