About the job

MBDA Missile Systems - Together. For the future of defence.

Exciting opportunity for a Sensor Integration Engineer, in our Hardware-in-the-Loop Team

Salary: up to £55,000 (DOE)

Hybrid working pattern:  80% on site, working with world class equipment

We are looking for ambitious engineers with a growth mind-set to join our team. If you're the right person for us, you will seek a supportive environment, surrounded by passionate experts while being a part of collaborative and driven team.

The Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) team conduct the most complete test of missiles other than a firing and are MBDA's Missile test track. We design complex, real-time simulations that surround real missile hardware to allow us to ‘fire missiles indoors'.

As a HWIL Sensor Integration Engineer you will be responsible for understanding the range of missile sensors and integrating them with the real-time HWIL simulation. This involves testing with, and making modifications to, our target generation equipment.

You will be able to adapt to new engineering situations and be comfortable in abstracting detail in order to understand the simulation and missile's behaviour.

What can you bring to the role?

Broad engineering experience with deeper experience in some of the following skill areas:

  • Interface debugging and system integration
  • Radio Frequency or Infra-red design or testing
  • Inertial sensor design or testing
  • Use of microcontrollers (e.g. Raspberry Pi)
  • System performance analysis
  • Familiarity with Linux operating system

What to expect:

We offer opportunities for career progression, paid overtime (subject to level), bonus scheme, comprehensive pension package, annual salary review, collaborative working environment and excellent on-site facilities.

We recognise that everyone is unique, and we encourage you to speak to us should you require any advice, support or adjustments throughout our recruitment process. We also welcome applicants who are looking for flexible working arrangements.
