Job type: Full Time, Mon- Fri 5 days.

MowersUK (a division of Acacia Groundcare Equipment Rental Ltd) is a leading and well know retailer of garden, forestry and arboriculture machinery, based in Tadley, Nr Basingstoke for over 30+ years. We also offer a selection of groundcare machinery for hire. We are an established business and have built our reputation on excellent customer service, a friendly welcome and offering good value for money.

We are seeking a Service Engineer to join our friendly Workshop team to service, maintain and repair our customer's machines as well as our hire machines.

Overseas candidates will NOT be considered for this role. We are not sponsoring Visa's at this time, so please refrain from applying unless eligible to work in the UK

The role: 

To repair and maintain a wide range of predominantly petrol ground care tools/machinery including:

  • Lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, strimmers, blowers, etc
  • Other ground care machinery such as small chippers and shredders, rotovators, tillers, stump grinders, etc

You will report to our Store Manager and you may occasionally be asked to visit customer sites to attend to machine breakdowns or to deliver/collect hire machinery.

The Candidate: 

  • Have mechanical skills and the ability to work quickly
  • Be able to keep up with changing technology
  • Be able to work alone without direct supervision and make decisions
  • Be prepared to occasionally travel to customer sites
  • Be interested in garden machinery
  • Be a team player and assist in all areas as required

Skills required: 

  • Previous mechanical skills (knowledge of 2 & 4 stroke petrol engines essential)
  • Able to learn and apply technical knowledge, and keep up-to-date with changing technology
  • Have an accurate and methodical approach to problems
  • Have patience and perseverance when locating faults
  • Able to work efficiently
  • A can-do attitude
  • Be able to follow strict safety procedures
  • Have a driving licence (ability to tow trailers would be an advantage)
  • Any relevant qualifications including welding, forklift operation, etc. would all be an advantage.
