Blackburn & Co Ltd are a metal fabrication company, based in Essex, specialising in manufacturing and installation of all mild steel metalwork, such as staircases, handrails, balustrades, gates and bespoke fabrications.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced site fitter who will work from our workshop, based in West Horndon, Essex and onsite

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading site team
• Reading from fabrication drawings
• Liaising with customer site operatives
• maintaining health and safety standards on site
• Completing projects on time and to a high standard

The Candidate:

• Must have experience in reading drawings, fabrication and site work in various aspects of metalwork, ranging from balustrade, staircases to structural steelwork.
• Must have a CSCS card
• Must have a full driving license
• Must have their own welding mask and general hand tools.
• A self-motivated individual
• Excellent communication skills

Day to day life:

• Setting out and maintaining working area
• Attending site inductions and ensuring correct H&S procedures are met on site 
• Liaising with site management to ensure works are on target, i.e work area is ready for installation.
• Coordinating with fabrication and site drawings. 
• Leading site team to carry out works as directed by management 
• Ensuring all works are completed to a high standard and are ready to handover to customer on completion
• Any snagging works are completed within allocated timeframe
• Coordinating deliveries to and from site along with return of all tools and equipment to Company 
• Daily reports at the end of the working day to management with update of process of work with photos.
