Within our Burton’s group, we have 6 bakery sites across the UK, located in Blackpool, Livingston, Edinburgh, Dorset, Isle of Arran and Llantarnam, with our head office in St Albans. In total we employ circa 2,100 people around across our locations.

What does your typical day look like?

You will be responsible for managing the maintenance of the site facilities , providing service support from both internal and external resources in a timely, cost and energy efficient manner.

Other key actions will be but not limited to:

- continually develop our engineering & safety systems to improve the well being of our employees

- lead the site services team to continuously improve plant reliability whilst meeting the requirements of a complex, high volume production site

- delivery of financial engineering labour and R&R budget aligned with the delivery of site KPI's

- Managing the complaint management system, highlighting key drivers, and drive reduction initiatives

- conducting disciplinary and return to work meetings as appropriate

What are the key ingredients needed for the role?

You will need previous experience of leading an engineering team . You will need to be a time served electrical /mechanical engineer with NVQ level 3 or equivalent.

You will need to be confident with continuous improvement tools and techniques

Hours of work are 0800-1500 Monday to Friday
