We have an exciting opportunity for a Band A up in our Aberdeen Clayhills depot.

The Band A Skilled Technician will perform maintenance and repairs to ensure safe maintenance of all rolling stock that passes through the Depot from all our 3rd party customers (Scotrail / Caledonian Sleeper and Hitachi) at Clayhills depot.

Sounds exciting doesn't it? This is a role where we need real support & leadership to improve performance across the depot.

What will you be doing?

• Be a role model and promote safety above all other priorities.
• Perform safety critical inspections, maintenance and repairs on a variety of rolling stock
• Support technical needs of semi-technical team members as needed, including diagnosis and repair, along with documentation support.
• Follow technical guidance (VMI, exam timing, etc) ensuring all maintenance and testing is complete, accurate, and on time.
• Complete paperwork to ensure all documentation is complete and accurate when shift ends.
• Support change management as changes occur, communicating effectively and supporting team members who need assistance.
• Guide semi-technical staff using appropriate behaviour and techniques to ensure good communication, reliability and high morale
• Drive LNER values of Own it, Be Bold, Always Care, and Bring Passion
• Understand and follow ISO 9001 and 14001 standards
• Perform to standards set in KPI measures
Of course, with this being such a key role, there are a few ‘must haves'.

What do we need form you?
• Knowledge of traction and rolling stock systems desirable
• NVQ3 in mechanical/electrical engineering or evidence of working experience equivalent to this level.
• Knowledge of Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Standards & Compliance desirable
• Experience of challenging behaviour as appropriate
• Organised
• Lead by example
• IT Literate
• Customer focused
