The role
As a Skynet Project Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll be joining the transformation team who tackle all things change. You'll be supporting vital MILSATCOM (military satellite communication) systems one day and developing new technologies the next. Your work will contribute to shaping the future of satellite communication systems within defence. And, with our track record of innovation, you'll continually develop your knowledge and expertise.


Day-to-day, you'll:

  • Manage the change and co-ordination of an integrated project delivery team ensuring that successful delivery of projects through planning monitoring and control in an INCOSE Systems Engineering environment
  • Manage stakeholders including Engineering, Operations, supply chain, client engagement and partners. Identification, monitoring, planning, implementing responses and reporting of risks
  • Lead the project to deliver world class performance by means of employee engagement, continuous improvement/change and identifying and implementing the latest technology
  • Establish and maintain governance arrangements for the delivery of the project, defining clear roles, responsibilities and accountabilities


This role is full time and consists of a 37-hour working week. We are adaptable on location and the role can be delivered from various locations. You'll be working from home most of the time but must be willing to travel into one of our hubs when required.

Agile working may be available to employees in some instances, applying the principles of fairness and consistency whilst ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met. We are happy to consider flexible, blended working, including part-time, condensed hours, and job sharing. Please ask about alternative patterns of work at interview.

Experience of the Skynet Project Manager:

  • Contract change process, and developing proposal responses to change requests
  • Previous experience on a complex defence and telecommunication projects / programmes, preferably MILSATCOM
  • Technical work package experience in areas such as site, FM and IT - desirable
