Job Title: Software Project Leader

Salary: Circa £72,000 depending on experience 

Location: Stevenage (we may be able to offer a relocation package for this role)

Dynamic (hybrid) working: typically 4 to 5 days per week on-site, due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

You will be responsible for developing the on-board software for the next generation of Missile Systems. This is a leadership role and involves leading a team to deliver embedded software on time, on cost and on quality.

What we're looking for from you:

A leader in software (experienced or aspiring) focussed on team leadership and delivering software:

  • Proven ability to technically manage a team of software developers

  • Project management skills to ensure good planning, delivery and cost control of software

  • A good understanding of software and the software development lifecycle including configuration management tools and techniques, to be able to provide effective oversight.

  • The ability to elicit and understand requirements and available design solutions so that you can produce accurate and cost effective estimates of work to be undertaken.

  • Understanding of UML and C, C++ and/or Ada Languages.

  • The ability to communicate effectively at all levels in the company across a range of mediums, including reporting of progress, blockers and achievements.
