The opportunity:

This is a very hands-on project management role, supporting the continued design and development for future Launch Management Systems and missile in flight Data link units!

We are looking for someone adaptable and creative! The software project management is the largest part of the role but it also requires a strong technical understanding. This role includes involvement in all aspects of the development, integration, delivery into service and service support aspects. You will be acting as a role model to both the team and the wider organisation by pro-actively leading innovative approaches to deliver whilst ensuring our strong commitment to safe, high quality code is maintained.

This role is highly dependent on stakeholder management; so being sensitive and collaborative to a diverse set of stakeholders will be vital.  The software developed will be used across multiple products at several sites.

What we're looking for from you:

  • Proven experience in software project management

  • You will possess a strong background in software, its realisation and system wide impact

  • Excellent leadership and team building skills

  • Awareness and application of Software Quality standards such as DefStan 00-55 or DO-178C and restricted coding standards such as MISRA C++ would be beneficial.
